Cheesecake, Surprises & A Very Eventful Launch…

Welcome back to Fudge Sake Unwrapped!

It’s been a little while… and honestly, how are we nearly in May already?!

We’re gearing up for the busy months ahead, events in the diary, stock prepped, ideas flowing — and just quietly hoping all that preparation actually pays off 😅

So let’s rewind to Saturday 28th March — the day of our Cheesecake Sake Launch Party🎉

Confetti shoot

"Somehow... we pulled it off"

🍰 The Star of the Show

Cheesecake but extra in every way!

Frozen, creamy vanilla cheesecake on a stick, dipped into warm, silky sauce, finished with chocolate drizzle and piled high with toppings.

It’s indulgent.
It’s a little bit messy.
And it’s the kind of dessert that makes you stop mid-bite and think… “okay, this is dangerous.”

And judging by how quickly they disappeared… safe to say it was a huge hit.

🎪 The Build Up… What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

The day kicked off at 7am, full of motivation, excitement… and a slightly ambitious timeline.

First task: the gazebo.
What looked like a perfect fit quickly turned into a bit of a squeeze — a gentle reminder that measuring beforehand might have been a smart move. Lesson learned.

Next up, the balloon arch.
Except… not quite.

Because instead of the cute, round balloons we had in mind, what arrived were long, sausage-shaped ones.
Not exactly the aesthetic we were going for… but we moved on swiftly and the balloon arch was cancelled.

A Slight Setback…

By late morning, everything was finally coming together nicely:

  • Cheesecakes ready ✔️

  • Toppings lined up ✔️

  • Dipping station prepped and looking the part ✔️

And then…

The electrics cut out.
The dipping machine stopped working.

"Me... Internally handling the situation"

And there was a very questionable burning smell in the air. The dipping station had a fault and was unusable!

With guests arriving in two hours. Ideal timing.

Let’s just say… the phrase “Fudge Sake” was used with enthusiasm.

🛠 Thinking on Our Feet

With no time to dwell on it, we improvised.

The sink quickly became our emergency chocolate melting station — not quite the original vision, but surprisingly effective.

And just like that, we were back in business.

Which left us with a very swift 15 minutes to get ready.

So naturally:

  • Outfit plans changed

  • Hair and makeup simplified

  • Final look = practical but still making an effort

(Orange heels stayed though… priorities.)

Orange heels

"The outfit may have changed...but the heels were non-negotiable"

🎉 And Then… It All Came Together

"Ignore everything that went wrong... focus on this"

Guests started arriving (a little early, of course), and suddenly everything just… worked.

Drinks were flowing, laughter filled the space, and the cheesecakes were disappearing faster than we could keep up.

Stoter

"The man behind the cheesecakes...you're welcome"

Martin was moving between the kitchen and garden like a pro, while I tried to take it all in — and occasionally look like I wasn’t running on pure adrenaline.

And the gifts?!
So thoughtful — the house looked like a florist the next day, which is definitely not a bad thing 🌸

💬 The Reviews Are In…

This is where it gets really good.

The feedback? Better than we could have hoped for.

  • Described as “luxury ice cream”

  • Portion sizes… noted (but we do love a generous serving 😌)

  • Requests for mixed selection boxes — something we’re now looking into 👀

But the main takeaway?

👉They were loved.

Frozen, they’re rich and refreshing.
As they soften, they become even creamier and more indulgent.

Basically… you get the best of both worlds.

"Sharing was optional... clearly"

The standout flavours of the day:

  • Pistachio Dream- Dipped in creamy pistachio goodness with a chocolate drizzle topped with Kataifi and chopped pistachio nuts.

  • Sticky Situation-Chocolate dipped , drizzled in sweet toffee sauce, topped with fudge pieces and crunchy crumb.

The two that everyone kept coming back for...

"Safe to say... these didn't last long"

🔧 Moving Forward (Slight Upgrade Included)

Good news — the dipping machine is now fully fixed by the manufacturer🙌

And we’ve taken it one step further…

We’ve asked Danny at D27 Vinyl to create a personalised wrap for the machine, so next time you see it, it won’t just be working perfectly — it’ll be looking the part too.
